About Enecsys

Enecsys Limited, founded in 2003 and headquartered in Cambridge UK, develops, manufactures and markets innovative solar photovoltaic (PV) micro-inverters for residential and commercial markets. The technology was originally developed at Cambridge University. More information is available at www.enecsys.com.

Micro-inverter architectures, with an inverter located behind each solar PV module, are now being widely deployed to overcome the disadvantages of conventional string systems with central inverters. Enecsys solar micro-inverters reduce the cost per harvested watt of energy by 15% - 25% over the life of the system. When using Enecsys solar micro-inverters, shading caused by clouds or obstructions have minimal impact on overall system performance because power is harvested from each module individually, rather than from groups of modules strung together through a string or central inverter. With the use of Enecsys solar micro-inverters the PV array design and installation is greatly simplified and cheaper to install. Additionally, installers can mix and match different modules, the system is scalable, and the modules can be located on multiple roof planes, enabling maximum energy harvest. Enecsys solar micro-inverters are designed to provide the high reliability and long lifetime necessary for placement with each solar module and safety is significantly improved with the elimination of DC wiring.
